Catherine Pestano FRSA has been Chair of Culture& since 2016. She is a singer-songwriter, social worker and community musician with a specialist interest in arts and wellbeing. Formerly Chair of Sound Sense, she brings 35 years of charity governance experience and public appointments to the board, and is a longstanding member of the national Network of Women Chairs. She is a visiting research academic at the University of Winchester and is published in the areas of arts, diversity and health. Her project in women’s wellbeing has won two national diversity awards for innovation and she has an active LGBTQ* focus. In 2019 Catherine was awarded a Professional Doctorate by Contribution to Practice in diversity, social work and community music.
