Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees – Svetlana Leu

With over 10 years’ experience of working in the arts and culture sector, Svetlana is a cultural strategy and communications specialist with a passion for diversity and representation. She is skilled in corporate stakeholder and client management, corporate communications, media relations, partnership development, events management, digital programming and charity governance.

At communications agencies, she worked with leading brands, museums and cultural organisations such as Audemars Piguet Contemporary, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Art Programme, Yorkshire Sculpture Park and Roundhouse. Svetlana was previously Head of Communications and Partnerships at CIRCA, an arts and culture platform with purpose, where she led a number of press campaigns including for a commemorative film in honour of the Windrush Generation to celebrate Windrush 75. Svetlana has recently been appointed as PR Leader Europe at Gensler, a global design and architecture firm which is committed to creating a better world through the power of design.

Born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago, she is an art historian by training, having read a BA in History of Art at the University of York. Svetlana is one of the youngest people of colour to hold a Vice Chair position in the art sector in her role as Vice Chair of Culture&, a charity that is dedicated to opening up and diversifying the arts and culture workforce and audiences. Svetlana is a trustee at Mimosa House which champions female and queer artists. She is also a critical friend to UP Projects which commissions interventions in the public realm.
